• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Changing permission on httpdocs

My service provider moved my website to a dedicated server. On Plesk httpdocs showed under user "Root" and the permissions for the httpdocs folder were not set for read.

I tried to change the permissions on Plesk but when I clicked on the folder, I got this:

Unable to change directory to /subdomains/<subdomain_name>/httpdocs: filemng failed: filemng: opendir failed: Permission denied
System error 13: Permission denied

I looked the problem up and found this:

Resolution
Choose the "Use the FTP user account of the main domain" option while setting up hosting preferences of a subdomain in order to be able to manage the subdomain using File Manager from within the main domain account.

Is this something I can resolve by going into Plesk or is it something only my service provider can do?

Thanks

Well, that doesn't sound good at all. It almost looks as though there was a problem with the Plesk install. If there's a problem with httpdocs there could be a problem elsewhere too.

I'd say this is definitely something for the service provider to adjust, or at least look into.
