Changing Plesk from MySql to MS SQL 2005

Hi all,

I've upgraded to 7.6.1 and moved Plesk over to IIS. No big issues apart from AWStats going crazy and needing to be killed.

When I did a clean install on one of our VPS's I noticed that the setup allowed for a MS SQL database over the MySql DB. I wanted to know if it is possible to convert to MS SQL with an existing install. The closer we get this baby to .NET technology the better off we all will be!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi there,

In the end we didn't and it caused the final bell toll for Plesk. We migrated over to Dot Net Panel and life is very good.

Cheers,

Mark

thanks, I found out the hard way: it works just perfectly with sql server 2005

Howdy,

I'd like to know how to do this as well. It would be great to only have to run 1 dbms on the server instead of mysql and sql 2005 express.

just select SQL Server during the setup process (you can't change the datastore afterwards) and input your SQL 2005 credentials.
