Control Panel service unavailable.

I'm running plesk8.2 on a win2k3 server, all of a sudden we can't get into plesk panel today. I would just get a cannot find page error, I ran an install repair on plesk and now I get the certificate page but then it says service unavailable. I went to the application pool (also restarted it when it stopped) and unchecked the rapid-fail. Now after accepting the certificate it says cannot find page.

Event viewer shows this with the source as W3SVC.

A process serving application pool 'PleskControlPanel' reported a failure. The process id was '5708'. The data field contains the error number.

Any help appreciated, TIA.

P.S. the domain is working and being hosted but just can't get to the control panel.
