• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Create Subdomain from third party hosting

I have a domain hosted with another company and I cannot move the domain name to my server for many reasons.
What I am trying to figure out is how to setup a subdomain on my server

I would have the third party host add an A record to point to my server

so ThirdPartyDomain.com will have an "A" record of subdomain.ThirdPartyDomain.com pointing to my servers IP

My server is DNS with 1and1

How do I set it up in Plesk, create a domain of ThirdPartyDomain.com then add subdomain.ThirdPartyDomain.com?

Will I need a vhost file?

Do I need to have 1and1 do anything?

Your help is appreciated,

Mike
