Database users

kadoudal

Regular Pleskian
After reading the Plesk Doc... (just in case someone tell me to do that before asking a question...)

I created a first database (mysql) my_DB_1
I created 2 users for this database, user1 and user2, and set user1 as the DBAdmin...

then I create a second database, my_DB_2, but when I want the same users to be created for this DB, I get an error message : Error: User user1 already exists...
yes it exists, but not for my_DB_2...

where am I wrong ? maybe I misunderstood the doc ?

thanks for your lights

Hi,

Looks like Plesk require unique name for each database user.

HI

I had the same problem and I tried to understand the reason of it.

Actually, all database logins are kept in PSA database:

mysql> select * from db_users;

So, when you try to create new user with the same login, the conflict occurred because of existing record in "login" column.

And this fact really is not mentioned in swsoft documentation. ((

Plesk doesn't manage databases customers

so it answers my question .... Plesk doesnt' manage Database customers very well (like C-panel is doing) !! I need to use phpmyadmin to select specific customers for specific databases...
