  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Detailed Java/Tomcat upgrade instructions?

I haven't found any instructions on upgrading Tomcat5.5/Java 1.4 to, say, Tomcat6/Java1.6 relating to PLESK 9.0 - not terribly comfortable following documentation I found for PLESK 7.5.4 as that's.. rather old.

Has anyone done this and can provide instructions/steps? That would be awesome.

I'm slowly working (privately for now) on a Wiki for various non-support upgrades/changes that can be done with PLESK 8.6+ and PLESK 9.x

i do not recommend upgrading tomcat (from 4 to 5 or from 5 to 6) on plesk server. plesk changes to server.xml could be wrong for new tomcat, also paths change can result in applications lost (i've seen such issues on debian, upgrade was from 4 to 5).

changing/upgrading JVM does not affect plesk at all. Just make sure that tomcat will support new JVM.
