  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Disable cron messages for Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

HHawk

Regular Pleskian
Hi guys,

I have a quick question; I receive daily a message from the cron job for Kaspersky Anti-Virus that is has been updated. I tried pointing it to /dev/null as someone stated for a different cron job, however that doesn't work. I still receive the message, so I am doing it wrong or it's something.

This is the message I receive daily:

/etc/cron.daily/kav8update:

Loading engine...
Current product version: 8.5.1.5
Initializing engine...
Using xml-file: /opt/kav/sdk8l3/bin/settings.xml.

LICENSE INFO:
Key file: kav.key
Expiration date: 22/09/2017
Operation result code: 0x00000000. Success
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl reload kavehost.service

Maybe someone can tell me where I can disable these daily messages...?

Hi IgorG!

Thanks for pointing that out. I actually did a search on the forum AND on Google for this, but couldn't find anything up-to-date.
Guess I must have used the wrong search terms. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks once again, I am certain the solution in the thread will work, as I placed the /dev/null string in the wrong line!

Regards

Didn't work.

Still getting CRON messages. Checked it today and yesterday.

/etc/cron.daily/kav8update:

Loading engine...
Current product version: 8.5.1.5
Initializing engine...
Using xml-file: /opt/kav/sdk8l3/bin/settings.xml.

LICENSE INFO:

Operation result code: 0x00000000. Success

I changed:
service kavehost reload
to
service kavehost reload > /dev/null 2>&1

And rebooted the server...

this will work for me

Code:
#!/bin/bash

SDK_HOME=/opt/kav/sdk8l3
export KL_PLUGINS_PATH="$SDK_HOME/lib"
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$KL_PLUGINS_PATH:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"

$SDK_HOME/bin/keepup2date8 --download --licinfo --simplelic --version --xmlfile $SDK_HOME/bin/settings.xml >> /var/log/kav-update.log 2>&1
RET=$?

exit $RET

this will work for me

#!/bin/bash

Yeah I have exactly the same. I will re-edit it once again and reboot the machine.

Well I exactly redid the change, but still getting the cron messages.

Though they are a little different compared to my first post.

Before change:
/etc/cron.daily/kav8update:

Loading engine...
Current product version: 8.5.1.5
Initializing engine...
Using xml-file: /opt/kav/sdk8l3/bin/settings.xml.

LICENSE INFO:
Key file: kav.key
Expiration date: 22/09/2017
Operation result code: 0x00000000. Success
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl reload kavehost.service

After change:
/etc/cron.daily/kav8update:

Loading engine...
Current product version: 8.5.1.5
Initializing engine...
Using xml-file: /opt/kav/sdk8l3/bin/settings.xml.

LICENSE INFO:
Key file: kav.key
Expiration date: 22/09/2017
Operation result code: 0x00000000. Success

So after the change, only the line "Redirecting to /bin/systemctl reload kavehost.service" is removed...
...stil getting these annoying messages.

sure you have edited 2 lines ?

first
Code:
$SDK_HOME/bin/keepup2date8 --download --licinfo --simplelic --version --xmlfile $SDK_HOME/bin/settings.xml >> /var/log/kav-update.log 2>&1

second
Code:
service kavehost reload > /dev/null 2>&1

there is no need to reboot the server.

I just edited it again, maybe I missed something indeed. Could be, because I am tired as of late.

Yes, now it's finally working. I must have done something wrong. At least now I am not receiving those annoying messages anymore! TY.
