  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Disk space incorrect

Hi there. I am trying to down size my server on Linode and it says "your Linode is too large for the new service plan"
The new Plan is 180 GB. The Disk space size is 55.2 GB (see attached)
I checked in info-and-statistics/overview and the disk size is 141.05 GB
I've checked around and I can't see the extra 90 GB anywhere.
What could that be and where would find it?
Thank you

Not exactly. The point is Linode is saying there is not enough space to down size. Info and Statistics says there is 55.2 GB on the hard drive, while statistics says there is 141.05 GB. So where and what is this 90GB?

There is nothing in your screen shots that indicates that the disk space shown is incorrect. The statistics you're looking at, show the disk usage of two distinct things. One screen shot shows the total disk space used by the server (aprox 141 GB). This includes your OS, system packages, Plesk, any local backups, as well as your website (files, databases, email messages). The other screen shot just shows the disk space used by your domain subscription (aprox 31 GB).

100% this what Kaspar said. So if you want to downsize to a linode that's 180 gigs in size for the disk space you need to follow the instructions in the link in my first message to resize the disk down before you can downsize the VM.

Thanks for the info. Sorry I sent the wrong statistics screenshot last night. it is showing 55.2GB, including a backup. - this time attached.
So that means the OS, system packages, Plesk has a size of around 90GB. That sounds excessive (or is that normal?).
If there are hidden backups somewhere, how do I find them?
Thanks, and sorry if I am being a rokie novice.

Once again what you provided is the stats for one of your sites (thebeatbali.com) and is not the overall stats and space for your server. You can also open a SSH session and issue df -h to see the space used and available (you primary wanting to look at the root (/))
