• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • The ImunifyAV extension is now deprecated and no longer available for installation.
Existing ImunifyAV installations will continue operating for three months, and after that will automatically be replaced with the new Imunify extension. We recommend that you manually replace any existing ImunifyAV installations with Imunify at your earliest convenience.

Question DNS error for all domains after adding an IP

teds

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
DEbian 12.9
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.67
Hello,

I have a server with Plesk Obsidian and around 1,600 domains on my Plesk.

Yesterday, I tried to add a new IP address. After adding the IP, I clicked the "Reread IPs" button.

After this action, all domains on Plesk encountered a DNS error. However, when I tried to ping a domain, the original IP had not changed.
Even the domain associated with the Plesk admin panel failed.

To resolve this, I connected via SSH and used the command : "plesk bin ipmanage --reread"

After about 20 minutes, all domains were back to normal.
I am unsure whether this issue was caused by adding a new IP or by clicking the "Reread IPs" button.

Is it necessary to click "Reread IPs" after adding a new IP?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Check the panel.log at the time of the first action. It should contain information regarding what went wrong. The button and CLI command do the same thing.

You can also check the syslog regarding bind errors after the Reread IPs button was pushed.

In order to be able to use new IP addresses in Plesk they have to be added in Plesk after they are added on the server. You can click on the Reread IPs or run the command you specified.

Thank fo your answer.

I have two errors in my logs that seem to correspond to the encountered issue :

1 in Plesk : Unable to find service node for ip address with id=0

1 in sytem : invalid IP address

But that's it, no further information, and nothing regarding my 1600 domain names.
