• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

DNS not working after Plesk 11.5.30 #45 upgrade?

New Pleskian
Hi, I have a VPS on Webfusion which auto upgraded last night to Plesk 11.5.30 #45. However, I used to have the domain registrar, 123-reg manage my DNS & now since the upgrade I've lost access to all emails & ftp access but the domains still work ok.

Can anyone please advise as to whether I should delete all DNS records at 123-reg & point to my VPS now?
The DNS parameters in Plesk appear to be different to 123-reg. Is there an online help guide?

Thanks.

This is not necessary since there's no way the upgrade affected the DNS records.
DNS can only be an issue if your VPS IP changed!

Hi Abdi,
thank you for your reply. Sorry I have not replied sooner, only I was not automatically informed (as requested).
Weirdly, the DNS sorted itself out after 2 days of having no emails or ftp service. I did ask Webfusion what they had done but they did not admit to anything (as per usual).
I found the entire process alarming as I have several clients who were understandably irate & a VPS host who would not take any responsibility for '3rd party software'.
Thought you guys should know.
