  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Error: tomcatmng failed: - cannot change hosting type

TobiasP

Regular Pleskian
When trying to change the hosting type of a subscription, from website to forwarding or none, that was created before I removed tomcat from the server, I get the error: "Error: tomcatmng failed:".
For subscriptions that where created after I removed the tomcat package (with the updates and upgrades manager/product installer) hosting type changing is no problem.

Debian 7.8
Plesk version 12.0.18 Update #39

Looks like that these subscriptions have enabled some tomcat or java related resources/permissions. Have you tried to disable them before hosting change?

No, I never set them intentionally, I've never used tomcat in any subscription (that's why I completely removed it from the server in the end)

where can I disable/set these resources/permissions?

on a side note: this concerns not specifically my error but I tried it anyway with no success: http://kb.odin.com/en/1808

All Plesk logs can be found here http://kb.odin.com/en/111283 I think that you need to use panel.log but maybe other logs can help too. If you will find nothing useful I can only recommend to create a request to support team to do in-depth investigation to find the reason and to fix it. Please create a ticket to support at https://www.odin.com/support/request/ .
You may have free support, please check what kind of Plesk license you use for available support options at http://kb.odin.com/en/121580 .
If there’s no free support in your case, you can order Plesk per-incident support at http://www.odin.com/support/buy-support/ Support team will contact you as soon as purchase is processed, and they will do the best to resolve it.
If it is found that your problem was caused by product bug w/o available solution or workaround from Parallels, then your purchase will be re-funded.

For anyone that has the same issue - the fix was:

Removing the entry from the plesk db table "DomainServices" with type "tomcat". (for this specific dom_id - or all if you don't use tomcat at all)
