  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

eshop: offering multiple price options on single item

I'm in the beginning stages of building my eshop, and I have a problem that I can't find any mention of elsewhere on the forums.

I am selling photographs, pendants, and other specialty items. When I add a new product, say, a photography print, I am asked what the price should be set at. The problem is that each size costs a different amount, and if the customer wants to have the item framed, that is an additional expense, along with a substantial difference in shipping cost.

What I see available on other websites, and what I need to do with mine, is to allow a customer to (for example) select an image, then select the size they want (with each size having a different price point), and then have the option of a frame available at an additional cost. Then, in the shopping cart, the final shipping cost would correlate to the overall cost of the selected options.

The only way that this can currently be done is to treat each offered size as an individual product, with the shipping cost of the item built into the cost of the item itself. Then I would also need to offer each frame style as an individual product, and treat each frame size as an individual product as well. So as it stands, instead of having 100 different images available in various forms (prints, pendants, greeting card sets, etc.) I will have to input and offer 3000+ individual products to reflect my full range of options.

This seems inefficient for customers, who won't want to wade through thousands of products to find the right combination of options, and inefficient for me because it will take me months just to get the products entered.

Is there a script or something that I can use to write over the options that are currently offered? Is there any way at all that I can make these essential changes? Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

different price for different product options

I have the same question as AnneS has.

Im creating a webshop. I sell computers. I have 3 products based on a socket. once a customer choose a socket (poduct, what is having a price) they have the options to select which procesor they want. On basis of what processor they choose i'd like to see chance the total price of the product.

Is there a way to add it as functionality to the site builder or is there a way to do it myself? Im not a great programmer, but i know someone who might do it.

i'd like to see response.
thanks in advance!

I do have the same problem. I want to sell computers. Customers create their own computers by selecting the options they want. Each options does have a different price. I'd like to see the total price of the product changing by selecting different options.

Is there a way to add this functionality to the site builder, or maybe by editing some files on the server? i'm not a great programmer, but i know someone who might do it.
