Question Exceeding Limits with no Mail Service

Tim Hunter

New Pleskian
We are running Plesk 12.5.30 Debian 7.8. We have 5 domains that do NOT have mail service enabled because they have no emails but yet they are exceeding limits by between 1,500 and 7,500. How is this possible since there is no mail service setup? Any help or input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Tim Hunter,

to check spam being sent with "sendmail" for example, Plesk provides the articles:

Pls. keep in mind, that IF you allow scripts to be sent over your domains ( wihtout SMTP - authentification! ), you could always experience spam issues. The best ( recommended ) way to avoid spam with sendmail - usage, is to disallow non-SMTP-authenticated messages on your server.

Pls. see as well:

Home > Tools & Settings > Mail Settings:

Plesk-Onyx_mail-server_disallow-scripts_001.png
or

Plesk-Onyx_mail-server_allow-scripts_001.png

If you allowed sendmail -usage server-wide, you can always set unique options at:

Home > Service Plans > Hosting Plans > YOUR-SERVICE-PLAN:

Plesk-Onyx_service-plan_mail-server_disallow-scripts_001.png

If you would like further help, pls. consider to include your mail - log for further investigations. It is as well a good idea to post the corresponding mail - configuration files. ;)
