If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Failover or Redundant

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure a second server as a "failover" to a primary Plesk server?

Alternatively, a redundant solution that does *not* require individually maintaining separate servers?

Any thoughts appreciated!

I believe SWSoft has a product along those lines, but its not part of the default plesk install or license.

If I had to remember, I think it was part of Virtuoso with Plesk installed on top.

Another option would be to hack away at the PSA code, move the PSA database to a centralized mysql server or cluster, move all PSA content to NFS and run a couple of PSA boxes that mount the product root off of the NFS. Put it all behind a load balancer, and there you go, high availability PSA.

There might even be something less goofy out there that provides HA services.

Personally if you're looking for high availability or failover, I would look beyond Plesk to something thats more friendly and customizable.
