• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Installing Plesk for the first time over the weekend, will a standard server class install do or will it have to be custom?

Thanks,
adam

The release notes for each *nix version has a list of packages which must be installed before you install Plesk.

For FC3:
http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk7.5/FedoraC3/psa-7.5.4-fc3.build75051209.14.i586.txt

For FC2:
http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk7.5/FedoraC2/psa-7.5.4-fc2.build75051209.14.i586.txt

For FC1:
http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk7.5/FedoraC1/psa-7.5.4-fc1.build75051209.14.i586.txt

So if the server install does not include any of those packages, you will need to install those in addition to the server install.

Thanks jamesyeeoc. Do you know if the auto-installer will notify of missing packages?

(Sorry for the wet questions, first install.)

adam

You really don't want to run the installer first. But if there are missing packages, yes, it will throw out a bunch of warnings and errors, and of course, not install properly.

It's much better to have all required's installed first, to avoid possibility of a bad install from having to run the installer multiple times... (IMO)
