files\public requires access data - how do I disable that?

New Pleskian
Before switching to a new server with Plesk installed, we had a

files/public

directory under the webroot, where we stored public downloadable files.

Now that we run Plesk, the public subfolder of the file folder is password protected when accessed via http, and we cannot find any way to disable the password protection. We don't have any filesharing enabled, i.e. we have not added any files to that folder via the Plesk FileSharing feature.

How do I stop Plesk from protecting the files/public folder?

Thanks in advance,

Steve
