• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Firewall prevents IMAP connection from a particular WiFi

Igguana

New Pleskian
Hi there,

We are using thunderbird as our default email client via IMAP.
Everything has been running smooth till we move to a new office and we are suddenly having refused connections on the new WiFi.
Thunderbird keeps running in every WiFi we try but we can't use it on the office.
I tried the option "Disable firewall rule management" on Plesk and email was working again, after re-enabling the rules, email was still working, but this kind of "reset" seems to have done the trick for us.
Can anybody give me some hints about what can be wrong?
It seems like some kind of conflict between our router (our provider doesn't bring so much access to it) and the Plesk firewall.

It is more likely the iptables (Fail2Ban) security mechanism that is blocking the IP address for the mail service (Dovecot jail).
