  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Firewall Rules - Edit Service to allow Domain Name rather than IP Address

Justin Clarke

Regular Pleskian
Hi,

Is it possible somehow to edit a firewall service and choose the option "Allow from selected sources, deny from others" and to enter a domain name rather than an IP address.

When I try to add a domain name (a DynDNS one) it comes back with "Invalid IP address or network."

Is there are workaround for this? I.e, editing a config file somewhere or something in the psa DB?

Thanks.

It is impossible, because Linux iptables can work only with IPs but not with hostnames.
