• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Firewall rules SMTP Server

sy911

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04 x64
Plesk version and microupdate number
Version 18.0.54
Hello,

I have set the firewall rules in Plesk to "Allow from selected sources, deny from others" for both the SMTP (submission port) server and the SMTP (mail sending) server, aiming to enhance the security of port 25. Could you please confirm if this setting will not cause any other issues?

I look forward to your response.

Thank you.

Blocking port 25 is not a good idea, because that must be available to all other servers on the Internet. Else they won't be able to send mail to your server.

Hi,
I have a question, too. I set for SMTP (mail sending) server, Allow from selected sources, deny from others, and I set my IP address of the server, but now I can send mails, but not receive mails.
Can anyone help me with this?

Ah, now I understand. I have an issue my IP address is using in a botnet, so I need to secure the mail server.. what should I do?
