Getting rid of www in domain name

Hi
I need to add a domain e.g., products.domainname.com with no www. The problem I am having is that in Plesk 10.3 Linux the www seems to be hard coded into the subscription so I have to have www.products.domainname.com. To get the products.domainname.com I need to create it as a sub domain. How do I create products.domainname.com on the server without having to do it as a subdomain?
