• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Has anybody managed to install Typo3 4.x on a Plesk 8 (Linux) install successfully?

I am trying to find someone who has been able to install Typo3 v4.x on a Plesk 8 install without having to jump through hoops (and if you did, how did you get through)?

I can install a partially function Typo3 3.8 via the Application Vault, but it's far from fully functional and any attempts to upgrade it to the 4.x version also fails.

I can provide full tech/install details that I have tried, but for the sake of not flooding this thread pre-maturely I'm going to hold off on posting everything until I find out that it is indeed possible to get this software installed and functional.

Hey!

We have Typo3 4.0-Installations working here on our 8.0.1-boxes.

You have to take care of installing suPHP though.
And that's a really difficult thing to do :-(

We are currently experimenting around with Plesk 8.1 to install the suPHP again...

Hi,

It would be great if you could share your suPHP installation experience with us!

Thanks.

Well, I found that the libapache2-mod-suphp package (on my Debian system) seems to do the trick to get suphp up and running within Apache. It's only applied to Typo3 virtual host at the moment and according to it's logs it is functioning, unfortunately the Typo3 problems I've been having pre-suphp are still there.

Could you shed some light on what configuration options you're using on your existing Typo3 install (under Plesk 8.0) to get it up and running, successfully?

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but haven't been able to find it, yet.
