Please im willing to pay for assistance.

I cant login via normal SSH but if I put virtuozzo into repair mode I can login to the root of the server via SSH (virtuozzo puts data into /repair directory).

I'm self employed and need it back online

Please provide me OS version and output of 'rpm -q psa' command.
BTW, you should update VPS with 'vzpkg update VPS_ID' command from Virtuozzo node instead yum update inside VPS.

Linux CentOS 5 with Plesk 9 (64-bit)

Are you saying I shouldnt be running the 'yum upgrade' command frequently?

and how do I:

I had to re-image server then apply backup. Im stuck on 9.5.2. If I run any more upgrades via 'yum upgrade' or via the plesk panel admin updater it breaks everything.

so now im stuck on a build I cannot update via 'yum upgrade' and cannot update via the plesk admin software updater.

I ran rpm -q psa and got this: psa-9.5.2-cos5.build95100504.10

Issue I detailed here along with other users having the same issue, support havent responded.
