I have updated our version of plesk 7.6 WINDOWS to 8.1 Windows !! the update was ok
but there is 1 major problem when i am opening any site that is hosted on the server there is no problem when it is made in HTML
but when i open a site that is made with .PHP then a popup appears asking voor a LOGIN and PASSWORD !!! only the login and password from the server itself (administrator login and pass) will work, and after i put those in i can see the website. Can u please tell me what the problem is or where to look?? all my customers are waiting for me and getting angry because then cant open there site?

PS i also tryed a clean install. :
i have installed windows server 2003
installes plesk 8.1 includding neassery settings.
then i restored the accounts by a backupfile of plesk 7.6

every thing worked fine under plesk 7.6

Try to run the Fix permissions repair tool in the program files>Swsoft>plesk

Hi,

i already tryed that.

and it is a clean install so the setting must be oke by original right?

marvin.

Just a hunch... but try checking the permissions of the actual website tree in the file system and make sure the iusr account is in there and given proper permissions. I can't even say how much server 2003 w/ ii6 has been ticking me off lately with its "increased security".

I'm having the same problem after upgrading from 7.6.1 to 8.1. Applying the latest plesk hotfix didn't solve this.

Also, I noticed that if php is set to run as an ISAPI filter on a domain, .php pages work just fine. Also, I checked the file permissions on %plesk_dir%\additional\php and they seem to be ok.

Did anyone find any solution yet?

gentlemen, thank you for your reports. we will invesigate this scenario with proper attantion.

I contacted SWsoft support and after a long wait period, Oleg Beznosov, the department manager stepped in and solved the mystery.

Apparently the problem was caused by insufficient privileges for the 'psaadm' user on C:\Program Files\. I'm not sure how this happened, as Plesk should have reset the file permissions on C:\Program Files\ as part of the Plesk reconfigurator process.

Anyway, if anyone needs to know the exact permissions needed, please PM me and I'll forward you the screenshots with the exact permissions needed, as Mr. Beznosov sent me.
