Hi
I'm new to Plesk and using VPS servers and I'll do my best to keep this brief and concise.
I come from using SiteGround (SG) and managing multiple websites for 10years or so.
I'm venturing into VPS (with Vultr) and I now have Plesk installed and seeming to work fine with one of my domains +SSL certificate. All good.
It is Plesk Obsidian and is not going to be used for on-selling hosting accounts to clients. This is for one person with a network of websites (including a WordPress multisite)
I am currently confused with DNS management which is possibly compounded by a domain registrar that is unfamiliar to me and giving me conflicting messages about DNS settings.
What adds to this confusion is that each website that I've added to Plesk has it's own DNS settings. I'm used to only seeing DNS settings with a domain registrar, but I understand that Plesk can take over and manage DNS? Is it better for Plesk to manage DNS?
Let's say I leave it at the domain registrar managing DNS....
When I add websites to Plesk, I need to change DNS settings on the domain to "point to" the hosting setup in Plesk.
Is this just a matter of changing nameservers? ... or is there more?
Does anyone maybe know of a tutorial that explains this clearly that I can watch?
I've found lots of tutorials but they focus on installing Plesk and how to set it up. I haven't found one that explains how to add websites and configure the required DNS settings.
I'm looking to do my own learning and if someone can point me to some great resources, that would be much appreciated.
It could also be that I'm in way over my head and I should consider going to managed VPS ??
Thank you
