Resolved How block all connections from Vietnam

tetrahall

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
CentOS Linux 7.6.1810 (Core)‬
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.56 #2
Hi,

I am having a DDoS attack from IP addresses in Vietnam - 100,000 and more.

The IP addresses keep changing.

What is the quickest way to block ALL IP addresses.

htaccess is not useful, as I have to enter each one.

I am not good at this kind of thing.

Please advise.

PS: I use Plesk 18 but I am not sure about the full name. I could not find it on Plesk interface, so I used Obsidian 18.0.56 #2

If not installed already, install the Plesk Firewall extension. On the firewall create a rule with the Vietnam county code to block traffic originating from Vietnam.

Note that the Plesk firewall uses the an external IP database provider ("IP to Country Lite" database from DB-IP) to determine the IP's origin. Which is only gets updated by the database provider once a month, so it might not be completely accurate. You can switch to the MaxMind IP geolocation databases for the Plesk Firewall to increase accuracy if needed.

Thanks, Kaspar.

Inside Plesk > Security > Firewall

I see a list "Allow incoming from all". I cannot change them when clicked.

Where do I find the extension, please?

My apologies, am a complete newbie at this.

I couldn't find an extension on the displayed page. Whn "extensions" is clicked a list of many items are displayed.

This means the Firewall extension is already installed on your server and you have access to the firewall.

This support article explains in more details how to add a firewall rule to block a specific country:
