• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Question How can I migrate mails and wordpress to a newer plesk platform?

Aldo

New Pleskian
I got one plesk 12.5 running on centos 6.10.

These software are going to be outdated soon, so I'm considering to move to the latest version.

My intention is to copy(not to move) data from the old plesk to a new one.
I'd like to copy because I need to do some test in order to check if everything is ok with the latest plesk.
Then I'll proceed with the effective migration.

I checked out Plesk Migrator component, I'm not sure about how it works.
I cannot unsterstand whether copy or move operation is performed.

Do I need to take additional precautions?

Thanks to everyone considering this question.

Yes, Plesk Migrator is the tool to use for this kind of migration. It will _copy_ the data from the old to the new server.
You can read all about it here: Introduction

Plesk Migrator is a incredibly good tool, as a "no-programer" it makes customer management with different servers extremely easy and comfortable!
Thanks for this tool!
