How many inodes ?

Hi,

I have a virtual server, with disk space of 50Go.
I have Virtuozzo module with the limitation of 400 000 inodes.

I find this limitation very small, because I have already 5Go and 200 000 inodes.

What is the "best" limitation of inodes for 50Go ?

in VZ you will have insane amount of symlinks (small files in fact, 20-40 byte ones), so set as little as you can

I don't find this topics when I search with gg. I better understand what is an inode.

But it is not a "clear" answer for me.

For small websites hosting, there are a lot of small, very small files as you write.
And I need an answer with "arguments" or examples to give to my hosting company, so they can maybe accept to increase my limit number of inodes.

So, you have Virtual server or VE.
Usually applications like Plesk are installed there by provides with use of templates. And template is the set of files and links that refer to real files. This helps to solve space issues as example.
