Resolved How to install ext-mbstring for PHP 5.3

I am running Plesk Onyx. For an older App I need PHP 5.3 with ext-mbstring. The Extension seems not to be installed with PHP version 5.3 with Onyx.
How can I add the extension?

Thank you for the answer. I followed the post.
But with:
# /opt/plesk/php/5.3/bin/pecl install mbstring

I got the answer:
No releases available for package "pecl.php.net/mbstring"

How can I figure out the right name for the extension?

php -m

/opt/plesk/php/5.3/bin/php -v

php -v

If you have CentOS, just install it with

# yum install plesk-php53-mbstring

Thanks for the assistance. My fault: The extension was already installed.
