  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

IP address problems

Hello,

I currently have three IP's, and Plesk was set to the first IP available.
Currently, the Plesk Panel is available through a domain that I also have in the Domains section (which contains the front page for my services) but can also be used to access Plesk (via :8443).

Thing is, Plesk Panel uses a DIFFERENT IP than the domain I've added in the Domains list.
I'm unable to change the domain IP through "Web Hosting Settings" in the Domains list, or even choose an SSL certificate, wonder why?

I also couldn't find a way to change the IP Plesk uses to the IP the actual domain uses, as currently the IP that resolves to my domain, is the one I set up in the domain's DNS settings, so the IP Plesk uses does NOT resolve to the domain.

Phew, hope some of you got what I meant, feel confused myself too. In a nutshell: I think I want to change the external IP that Plesk uses to the IP of my domain, as I have an official SSL cert for my domain, so changing the domain's IP to Plesk's IP would be more of a hassle, no?

Still haven't figured out the right way to do this.

(if someone didn't quite get what I meant with the previous post, I want to use one domain for both my website AND Plesk, so that I can still administer the site via Plesk)
