• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

I run 7,5,3 Plesk on a Red Hat EL3 server.
The question is....
If I do updates to linux using his up2date command, will the updates affect in a bad way or harm my Plesk installation ?

I use up2date all the time and YUM. I would say up2date is just fine to use as you can rollback updates fairly easy if something breaks. Just take caution when updating MySQL/PHP..... I've never had to skip an update except for a customized kernel.

You can use up2date without any problem with ALL RPMS. You should exclude the kernel if you have a custom compile.
