• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Is plesk going to eventually include joomla in the application vault?

Should I change over my hosting clients to Joomla? What is the verdict out there?

Hey RG,

I don't know about "should". Mambo is a good CMS. However, Joomla! is being developed by the original core development team and they are continuing the original vision for the opensource.

When you say switch your clients over, do mean migrate their sites over or offer them the app in the application vault or both?

There are several issues/questions:

1. Is Plesk going to add Joomla to it's application vault? If not, why not?

2. I have several clients using VirtueMart (aka phpshop/mambo). Looking at their site, it looks as if they prefer Joomla. They do say "it work's with Mambo also".

3. Since I added several patches to Mambo since the release of Joomla, can I still switch over to Joomla?
