• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question libapache2-mod-evasive

DieterWerner

Regular Pleskian
I use the
libapache2-mod-evasive
and I wonder why it isn't a part plesk.

It was easy to install and to configure but I think I have to make a fine tuning of the configuration.
So any hint would be helpful.

With comment:

You can enable EPEL yum repository and install and configure mod_evasive for your Apache. But in latest Plesk Onyx versions it’s better and effective using ModSecurity Plesk feature for protecting attacks.

Do you mean this question?

I wonder why it isn't a part plesk.

A lot of things aren't part of Plesk, isn't it? It so happened that we are using ModSecurity solution instead of mod-evasive.
If most of the users of our product tell us that mod-evasive is much better and more effective than the ModSecurity, if they convince us of this, we will consider such a turn of events.

Both (ModSecurity and mod-evasive) are not comparable.
