• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

TITLE:
Long lasting Bug: Health Monitor in the "Web Admin Edition" is missing a UI
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk Onyx 17.5 for Linux
Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 Update #21 for Linux
Plesk Onyx for Linux
Plesk 12.5 for Linux
Plesk 12.5 Update #52 for Linux
Plesk 12.0 for Linux
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Missing a UI for the Health Monitor on a "Web Admin Edition" on Linux

This bug has apparently been known for about 3 years some people on the forum say the devs where working on a fix but 3 years for a fix... is too long ... or is the resolution still on hold? its still not fix on the new Plesk Onyx Version 17.0.17 on linux

Some post since back in 2014:

Yes, Health Monitor is not accessible from Power User mode. We have corresponding request PPP-8832 regarding this issue.
Resolved - Do I have the Health Monitor in the "Web Admin Edition"?

More here for Onyx Version:
Issue - Bug in Health Monitor in the "Web Admin Edition" no UI...

This issue has been considered as software issue with ID #PPPM-2857 and request PPP-8832
No Health Monitor link in Power User Mode

Plesk voice and votes:
Health Monitoring in Power View

this issue should be fixed in the one of major Plesk update. Maybe in the scope of the completely renewed monitoring system.

Fix is expected in Q1 2017.

We are now in the( Q2) April, May and June.

There still is no news from the dev team about when or if the team knows about this missing UI bug.

The new Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 and lower version are still missing a fix for this.

Why let us install the Health Monitor on Web Admin Edition, when we can't actually manage it?
why is it taking so long to get a fix ?

We being admin on server need a Health Monitor. Trying to install other Health Monitor like Munin, Zabbix, Nagios stops the plesk from ruining and is not compatible with plesk.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
install any version of plesk for Linux starting from Plesk 12.0

  1. i would recommend Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 Update #21 for Linux
  2. install a Web Admin Edition license
  3. Go to Tools & Settings
  4. Go to Update and Upgrade Settings
  5. Under Plesk release tiers set it to: General release (Recommended) and Apply.
  6. Go to Updates and Upgrades
  7. Go to Install or Upgrade Product install all available updates
  8. Go to Add and Remove Product Components.
  9. Tern on Server Health Monitor
  10. Click on continue.
  11. Once installed reboot the server
  12. Ones server is back online go to Tools & Settings
  13. Look for Health Monitor ... its missing. There is no UI = bug
ACTUAL RESULT:
  1. Go to Tools & Settings
  2. Look for Health Monitor ... its missing. There is no UI = bug
EXPECTED RESULT:
ones the Server Health Monitor is installed on a Web Admin Edition license, there should be a UI for it under Tools & Settings.
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Would be nice having a fix for this ASAP this bug has been reported many times since 2014. We all need a server monitoring tool.
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PLESK SERVICE TEAM:
Confirm bug

Sorry, I have no any ETA, but developers informed me that fix is scheduled.

Good, let's hope this time it will be fixed... This has been a known bug for a long time.
Let us know when the scheduled ETA is known.

Fix will be included in the nearest update of Plesk 17.8 and backported to Plesk 17.5 soon.
