Question Looking for a simple backup tool for WordPress sites

carlsson

Basic Pleskian
Hi fellow Pleskians,

I’m not entirely sure if this is a WordPress or Plesk question, maybe a bit of both?

Background
I run nightly cloud-based backups on my server (around 30 domains, most of them WordPress installations).
However, restoring a site from the cloud tends to be quite slow. I recall working on a previous project where it was possible to restore the site directly from within the WordPress installation itself.

That setup had a timeline feature where you could easily restore a version from, say, five days ago.

Does anyone recognize this?

If not, is there a simple way to manage backups and restores directly from the WordPress Admin dashboard?

Too late to edit the post, but:
- Title should read "Looking for a simple backup tool for WordPress sites" obviously.
- I also want to point out that Plesk integration would be really nice to have.

There are a tones of backup plugins available for Wordpress. Updraft, Jetbackup and Duplicator come to mind as some I used in the past. But there are many, many more available.

Personally, I prefer to just use Plesk backups most of the time, as these are available to me (and my customers) anyway as part of the daily full server backups. If I need a (quick) impromptu backup for a Wordpress site, I usually use the WP toolkit backup option. Because of these two build-in backup options a separate Wordpress backup plugin feels really redundant and, when stored locally on the server, take up too much disk space to be beneficial for me.

Your needs and use cases may be completely different of crouse :)
