Mail Local Loop but No Accounts exist

Will-NYESDigital

Regular Pleskian
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU #10 CentOS 6.3 (Final) 64bit

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

We run hundreds of domains and their e-mails are handled via Office 365. This works fine for most of them but a few are not working correcly and mails are being delivered to non existnent Local accounts via plesk_virtual

In the past, to fix this we have set the subscriptions to 0 mail accounts and removed any locally created mail accounts via PLESK - so via the panel there should be no locallay available account. But mails for some domains (seemingly added in the last few months) are now being delivered by the local system to non existent accounts.

We are aware of commenting out the following fix, however many people have suggested that this file maybe overwritten by PLESK updates and thus the problem may return without our knowledge.

commented out like this :

#virtual_mailbox_domains = $virtual_mailbox_maps, hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual_domains
#virtual_alias_maps = $virtual_maps, hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual
#virtual_mailbox_maps = hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/vmailbox

Has naybody come accross this issue or have any further troubleshooting tips ? Wilkl Plesk overwrite the above config if I adjust it ?

Cheers

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1.Using the Web Presence Builder Contact form send a message to an email account hosted outside of the plesk environment

It should be noted this is only happening to a few domains on our system !

ACTUAL RESULT

Email is delivered to a non existent local account via plesk_virtual

EXPECTED RESULT

E-Mail should be delivered to the external mail system

We have managed to fix this issue by following these instructions : http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?109512-Postfix-virtual-mailbox

We found that the /var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual_domains.db file had roughly 10 domains in it that should not have been there. Removing these has fixed the issue, but why they were lsited when PLESK has no mail account setup is a mystery.

FYI All the domains were newly added domains (over the past few months) so I will keep an eye on it incase PLESK is randomly adding accounts that in reality have no Virtual Mailbox
