I have had the guys from Atomicorp take a look at my server (as I run their ASL product)
Every time I run updates, I end up with issues that, surprise surprise.. are never the fault of the extra packages being run.
Anyhow.. I have larger than normal loads on my server and this is the response the Atomic team gave me...

Note Subject: Your load is high because you have a massive mail loop
Note: This is not part of ASL, you need to contact Parallels for this issue.
If you look at top on your system you will see that spamd is whats slowing down your machine - because its processing a lot of mail - and the mail that its sending over and over again is below:
top - 01:32:17 up 194 days, 19:08, 1 user, load average: 1.75, 1.56, 1.43
Tasks: 216 total, 5 running, 211 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Cpu(s): 3.4%us, 1.0%sy, 0.1%ni, 93.4%id, 2.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 3916216k total, 3275488k used, 640728k free, 285948k buffers

spamd is the daemon that checks email for spam. Notice that you have many copies of spamd running on the system using up your CPU. If you look at your mail logs you will see that you your mail server is sending a lot of mail to itself in a loop:
