Question Microsoft Outlook 365 Account Setup Issues

Fastamir

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.71
Hi All

Hope someone can help as just got a new dedicated server with decent spec.

When I try to set up email accounts for most domains we have and are using Outlook 365 using IMAP (same with PoP3),
I get to the stage where I enter manually the email address details, password, server setting, SSL security (done this loads of times so I know settings are correct).
Outlook performs the final check needed to save the details but keeps coming back with 'something went wrong, please contact service provider'.
Different locations. Different domains. Different ISPs.
The message means bugger all and I get the same message when I try to set up the any email addresses using Outlook 365.

Can anyone shed any light on this / Is this documented anywhere.
Been trying to setup some email addresses in a couple of domains, which would normally take us about 2 hours; but been at it now for days and it is dong our head in.

Server is brand new and hardly any emails have gone through it, so can't be blacklisted (spamhaus says server is fine).

Any advise or a solution would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Amir

Hi,

Where are you trying to configure the email addresses? Email addresses hosted on Plesk or on Outlook 365?

Hi Raul

Not sure what you mean.
The configuration of the email addresses are done in Outlook 365 (not auto discovery) manual setup.
Most accounts were migrated when the server migration took place.
Then they are being configured in Outloook 365 for server / security information....etc.

Thanks

Amir

Hi Amir,

I understand the email addresses are hosted on a Plesk server and you are using Outlook 365 email client installed on the computers. Did I get that right?

If you could DM a domain name and the server settings you are using, I can further check the issue you are encountering.
