• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
    With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Migrated email accounts fail

Email fails on migrated domains

* I am migrating from Plesk 8.6.0 to Plesk 9.5.3 both on linux/Apache servers.
* Source Server Redhat ES, Destination server CentOS
* Source Server has DrWeb and SpamAssassin, Destination server does not. ( I asked they be installed today )
* Both servers set to allow short user names.
* Both servers have SMTP ports 25, 26 & 587 open.
* Other aspects of migration appear okay.
* Destination server did not have Qmail but does now. ( I did not try a fresh migration after adding Qmail )

Email accounts for migrated domains refuse connections using email client. Password is correct. I can log in via HORDE but in there I get error: DB Connection Failed and cannot send email there either. All accounts are POP accounts.

If I set up a domain manually on the server, email functions as expected.

As a side note in case it rings any bells, as set up, new domains would only deliver the default server page to browser even when those files had been replaced on the server via FTP. Techs at HiVelocity were able to resolve that saying it had something to do with wrong certificate path after 12 hour for feedback from Plesk support. Don't understand but that was the reply. I took delivery of the new server one week ago today and it is still unable to be used for production sites due to all migrated emails failing.

After 48 hours techs are still unable to resolve this blaming it on the Migration Manager. If this is true how do I fix it.
Any ideas most welcome so I can keep remaining hair !
