mod_ssl version number wrong

I am trying to determine what version of mod_ssl is installed on my plesk 8.0.1 system. Apache is telling me I'm using mod_ssl version 2.0.54. But I think that version number refers to my apache version, not my mod_ssl version.

Is there another method to check mod_ssl version besides the apache HEAD message?

I believe mod_ssl is the same version as httpd as mod_ssl is part of the apache distribution (see http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/). What OS are you on? On CentOS 4.4 I see this:

# rpm -q httpd mod_ssl
httpd-2.0.52-28.ent.centos4
mod_ssl-2.0.52-28.ent.centos4

I think you're right. There seems to be two strains of version numbers for mod_ssl.
