• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue Mount to httpdocs

Noam Harel

Regular Pleskian
Hi

i want to have a plesk server that mount domain's httpdocs with httpdocs of another plesk server.
is it possible? will it work?

my goal is to create a 2 web servers that serve the website but they get their files and db from one backend server both behind load balancer, which enables more concurrent connection.

thanks,
Noam

In Windows you can try to achieve this by using IIS Shared Configuration and IIS Centralized Certificates Store features, and by installing Active Directory Domain Controller, and using shared network drive to store vhosts content. There are still some issues with such configuration, but it is possible.

so back to linux, what would you suggest to sync 2 httpdocs folders on two different servers, can you please give exapmles for code (rsync or cron) and what would be the best stable practice? thanks a lot

Currently, I cannot recommend any production-ready solution for Linux.

p.s. you should vote for that feature: Synchronize Plesk Servers
Originally, it was requested for failover scenario, but there are comments about high load scenarios as well (as you have requested). I think this is the most correct uservoice thread for that.
