  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Move ftp user to different domain

I started with "domain.com", and ftp user "user" with physical hosting.
I now have another domain, "domain.info", which I want as the main domain (I will change domain.com to be a domain alias to domain.info).

My question is, is there a way in plesk 8.3 to move the user "user" which is the current ftp user for domain.com, to be the ftp user for domain.info? It would be easy through the shell, (usermod -d ... ) but I'm worried this could cause problems for plesk.

I could create a new ftp user assigned to domain.info, but my user's home directory has many files within subdirectories with different ownerships and permissions, which I would like to keep.

Cheers,

Actually I figured it out, and it was way easier than I had imagined.

I followed the step in this thread to rename the domain.com to be domain.info:
http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?t=50630

Then I created a domain alias for domain.info, named domain.com

So far, everything seems to be working. The web site is up, files and directories all have the correct ownership and permissions, and email accounts seem to also be working on the new domain.

Cheers,
