• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

MS DNS vs. BIND

I use MS DNS, and I feel Plesk is very slow.
When creating new mail accounts, Plesk sometimes is veeeery slow!!

Another strange thing is that I'm having some DNS Gateway Timeout erros on some domains:
--------
Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred:
Code:
A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup.
--------

If I change to BIND, it will work better? I'll get some performace improvements?
The "gateway timeout" may be associated with MS DNS?
What do you think?

If you answer yes to all question, and I change to BIND, will BIND migrate the DNS from MS DNS??
(all domains DNS will be auto-configured on BIND)?

Thanks.

Can't answer the performance questions but when I upgraded to 7.6.1, Plesk decided to switch from MS DNS to Bind. When it did, it did carry over all the existing DNS records.
