  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Multiple PHP versions

Is it possible to add extra versions of PHP to Plesk?

I'd like to be able to run sites/applications that take advantage of PHP 5.3(.1), but the bundled PHP with Plesk 9.2 is still the rather old 5.2.6. Ideally this version would still be available for sites that demand PHP5.2, and for Plesk itself. This would also be useful for future upgrades.

I know it can be done directly via IIS, but this is not the preferred option since Plesk could easily overwrite changes made that way, and it would also be missed during configuration backups.

Thanks.

I guess PHP 5.3 can be installed but it will not be possible to manage it through Plesk CP, only manually enable it for domains through IIS. The best way to check if upgrade is possible is to get test Plesk installation, then try to upgrade PHP that is installed by Plesk CP to %plesk_dir%\Additional\PleskPHP5 and check if Plesk detects new PHP version correctly.
