  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved MySQL has 100+ % CPU time for a couple of seconds

Martin Weil

New Pleskian
Hi there,

recently my MySQL started to get slow. I run a root server (not a virtual one) with Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 #42 on Ubuntu 16.04 and two Websites. One is Typo3, the other WordPress.

Sometime within the last two weeks I've noticed that both Plesk and Typo3 began to be slow. Not all the time, but often.

"htop" showed that two instances of MySQL take 100% (or more) CPU time on two cores for up to 10 Seconds. At the same time HDD is "busy 100%".

Any suggestions what that might be? Any known issues for Plesk regarding this?

I hope my question is not totally misplaced in this forum.

Thanks
Martin

It seems that a faulty HDD in my Raid-1 (Software Raid) was causing the delays.

Tip: Check your disks for bad blocks once in a while :)
Like so: "sudo badblocks -v /dev/sda1 > /tmp/badsectors_sda1.txt"
