newbie looking for advice

hello to all

i've just take one server for personal use and have few questions about it.
i have debian 3.1, plesk 8.2, mysql4.1.12, PHP Version 4.3.10-22

first, i've readit that i should patch qmail using qmailqueue patch for securitiy reasons, but i don't know how to do it so looking for a help.
also, i would like to upgrade mysql to latest stable version 4.x and don't have an idea too

also, i wonder wjat security fixes i sholud do to make sure that i'm safe

for plesk admins, i've been playing qith domain creations and WD notification, and every msg i've received has type definition in subject so on my mobile looks pretty odd. can i change it anyhow?
