No websites accessable

Hi,

This is my first post and as I'm a newbie to Plesk you can guarantee it won't be my last.

I've setup three new domains yet none are available when you browse for them. At this stage they are all "testing sites" as the official sites are still operating on different servers until I'm happy with the new server. By testing I mean I have not redirected the DNS yet so they are in theory accessible by IP address only.

The problem is that I've altered the index.html file in the httpdocs folder in all three domains, yet if I try and browse via IP address to the sites I get Plesk screen stating:
Server Default page

If you see this page it means:
1. hosting for this domain is not configured
or
2. there's no such domain registered in Plesk

Example 202.131.93.12/index.html goes nowhere just the page with the above text.

Any clues as I've done everything by the Plesk "book".

Thanks

Greg

1) the correct way is to use Site Preview button in domain page in Plesk.. before this check that /etc/resolv.conf file has the following line as the very first line:

nameserver 127.0.0.1

2) if you want to view sites through IP, go to Server > IP Addresses > click on digit in Hosting column for needed IP, then choose a domain and set it as default for this IP.. as you understand, if you have several sites on the same IP, then only one of them can be viewed such way..

Dirty,

thanks for your reply. I made a mistake with the IP address I had in my firts post

should be 202.131.93.124/index.html.

I have set up a site as exclusive to that IP address but still nada.

I'm about to check on:
1) the correct way is to use Site Preview button in domain page in Plesk.. before this check that /etc/resolv.conf file has the following line as the very first line:

nameserver 127.0.0.1

If I use the site preview button currently they take me to the actual sites hosted on other servers. I'm assuming I should not have used the original domain names for testing, even though I've turned off DNS in Plesk.

I'll report back after checking above

Thanks again

Greg
