We have a server that was set up by a hosting company, but I am not sure if the Apache & mySQL config are optimized for Plesk 10. It would be great to know recommended configuration from Parallels.

But if you install Apache, PHP and mySQL on the server before installing Plesk, you will get a different configuration files?

I have a ticket open from 2nd.line support team of Parallels, and they are asking me to fine tune my server. I am experiencing slow server due to high load (I am only hosting 70 websites and the server is brand new with high specs).

According to Installation Guide Plesk should be installed to fresh Linux server with minimal configuration. There are shouldn't be already installed PHP, Apache, MySQL, etc. Sorry, but it is your problems if you are not follow to recommendations from our documents.

Igor,
according to team leader for techincal support from Parallels said this:

"Plesk does not include any specific versions of PHP and MySQL, it uses either system-installed packages, or installs standard OS-specific packages using OS installation means. It is generally advised to install desired MySQL and PHP version before installing Plesk."

Right, but if you haven't pre-installed these packages, they will be installed during Plesk installation from OS vendor repository due to resolving necessary dependences.

Checkout varnish also for optimizing apache as wikileaks use it i guess its good for the rest
