  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Outbound Antispam Replacement

New Pleskian
Hi,

We received notification on Dec 9th that our subscription to Parallels Premium Outbound Antispam was going to be discontinued from the end of March as the product was no longer being supported. The email did, however, say that 'After March 31st outbound anti-spam functionality will be available as a part of the next version of Parallels Plesk Panel.'

Is there any definite information on when this functionality will be available and it which version? Are most people waiting on this, or looking for alternative solutions?

Regards,
PAUL.

Hi Paul,

as far as I know this feature will be available in Plesk 12.
Plesk 12 will be released at the WorldHostingDays on April 1st. At least there will be a small Release Party from what I've seen.

Regards,
Kristian

Sorry to disappoint, but the party doesn't really indicate release. Let's say the party is in honor of upcoming release :)

Hi,

awww... well I won't be making it to the party.
I will join you on April 2nd though :)

Sorry for the wrong information on this. We are also really looking forward to Plesk 12.
If I know in time we will release Plesk 12 on the day it's released by Parallels to our customers.

Regards,
Kristian

Hi,

So the Outbound Antispam product will cease to work on Mar 31st, but the replacement won't be available on Apr 1st? So while you guys are partying about a release that hasn't been released yet, spammers will be having a party on our mail server?

Regards,
PAUL.

Hi Paul,

as you've read, it's not really a release party.
Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe it's an option to upgrade to Plesk 12 pre-release?
this should normally not be done prior release with any production server, but if you really have issues with outbound spam,
maybe it's at least an option?

But in general, I think having an outbound spam protection is only a kind of insurance and I'd never rely on it in general.
You should be fighting the root cause of outbound spam which is unsecure scripts.

Please do note, that I am no Parallels employee, (maybe some day I will be ;)).
I am just trying to help.

Regards,
Kristian

Is there any alternative available for Plesk 11.5? Having just upgraded from 10.4.4 to 11.5 we are not ready to upgrade to Plesk 12 so are there any other solutions to filtering outgoing mail for spam?
