Password Protect a folder

Could someone please help me password protect a folder. I've followed the help instructions and it still isn't working.
Step #4 tells me to "Specify in what location (also called document root) your password protected directory resides or will reside." but I can't find where that information is entered.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted everything and started over and it is now working.

I have used the Protect My Folders program and its was nice and also very simple to use, u should give it a try…….
