• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Patch 32 broke bug fix for "Hosting settings updated" event not firing

New Pleskian
On 12/11/2012 I posted an issue about the "Hosting settings updated" event not firing when changing the "Access to the server over SSH" setting (http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=270976). The issue was resolved, with much help from IgorG, with a bug fix that was made available in a related KB article (http://kb.parallels.com/112144).

We had a microupdate for patch version 32 automatically applied on 12/22/2012 (according to our Action Log). It appears, however, that this patch has broken the supplied bug fix.

The bug fix contained two files:
smb/application/library/Smb/Form/Final/Web/Edit.php
smb/application/library/Smb/Plesk/Bridge/Hosting.php

Looking at the timestamps, it seems that patch 32 updated the Edit.php, but did not touch the Hosting.php file. I am assuming that this patch reversed whatever fix was included in Edit.php.

Would it be safe to replace the Edit.php file from the patch with the one in the bug fix, or does another bug fix need to be made for systems that have patch 32 applied?

Thank you for your time.

Yes, mentioned patch was not included to microupdate, therefore you should re-apply patch again. But note that latest microupdate is #33. Apply it first.

IgorG,

I apologize that it has taken this long to get back this this.

As of right now, we are up to microupdate 35. I applied the mentioned patch, which corrected the issue, and Plesk still seems to be working.

Any chance for one of these microupdates to include the fixes from the patch? I am a little worried about what code from the microupdate we keep having to overwrite when we reapply the patch after every microupdate.

Thank you for your time.
